Show Explorer icons for events which have attachments
If ticked then any events that have files attached to them will appear as program icons instead of event icons. For example, an e-mail with a ZIP file attachment will appear as a ZIP icon. Event files with multiple attachments will appear as a paperclip icon. |

If ticked then you will see float-over help when you move the mouse over a button and leave it for a moment, describing what the button does.
![]() |
Show large toolbar buttons
If ticked, and provided your screen has enough space, you will see large toolbar buttons. This option does not apply to toolbars used for formatting notes. |

If ticked then the Shared file will be backed-up before any changes are written to it.

At start-up, open the --- window
Select a screen that you would like to see at start-up. Some users may work all day from the Diary, in which case you could set the program to start with the Diary open. After a few days the program will notice which screen you generally open first and suggest it as the default. To start with no window open, choose (none). |

Sensitivity when dragging with the mouse
Choose a level of sensitivity when dragging with the mouse. A setting of High means that you don't have to drag very far before the program recognises that you want to drag something. Low means that you have to drag a long way before dragging is acknowledged.
![]() |
Default country for new addresses
Select your home country, or the country where the majority of your clients come from, as this will be the default country when you add a new address. You can alter the list of countries in the Shared choices & lists section. |

Try file operations --- times before reporting failure
Sets the number of times the program will attempt a file operation (such as reading or writing) before reporting failure. If you have a slow network or are connecting to the database remotely you might want to set this to the maximum value of 8 in order to allow for other users accessing the same file as you. |
||
![]() |
Display event date / time in --- format
Select between European (Day - Month) and American (Month - Day) date formats for displaying events.
![]() |
Template thickness | |
Sets the thickness of a template around the screen. Generally, the higher your screen resolution the thicker you will want your templates, to make them easier to click. |
||
![]() |
The postcode for this office
Sets the postcode of where you are based in the country. This is then used to calculate the distance to anyone else in the database provided that you are using the Rapid Addressing system. It gives you a rough idea of how far away they are from you. |
